COXINHA: The brazilian unit of measure for how overdone something is
I’ve decided to impart some brazilian knowledge here on tumblr dot com. Considering most of you are not brazilian, you might not understand the full extent of the COXINHA slang, but I’ll try to explain at the best of my abilities.
This is a coxinha. It is a very common snack recipe here in Brazil, typically comprised of breaded potato dough filled with shredded chicken meat (sometimes having catupiry, a brazilian type of creamy cheese as a filling as well) and then deep fried.
It is very common. VERY common. We brazilians have somewhat of a fast-food culture, just like the north-americans, except the fast-food places are mostly replaced by snack bars and “botecos” (basically small, “lower class” pubs); and we have those botecos and snack bars EVERYWHERE. Fried goods are very common, like the Pão de Queijo (cheese bread), Esfihas, Kibes, Croquettes, etc, and we eat them all the fucking time.
But the coxinha? Oh, the coxinha is something special.
i find all that “thats not from ur culture u shouldnt use it/ wear it or whatever”
like we absorved so much culture from other cultures and we use them but like if anyone uses something from native american its being disrespectful like dude we so many stuff that we normally do that arent like from our culture at all. and all that but its something honorous to them yeah i get that and all that kind of makes sense but like its nota reason to say someone is a douchebag we appropiate other cultures since like 2000 years ago idk like woah its not a big deal its natural human behavior to appropiate of other people things cause them find it different and interesting or something. yeah native americans got killed and all like entire america and stuff its obvious that overtime we would start absorving their culture and using their clothes and stuff.
